Planning for London 2012 Olympic Games

Is your business prepared?

It is clear that the transport network is going to be significantly impacted during the Games next summer. We can anticipate six weeks of severe travel disruption and congestion across the transport network, so in recent months DX has been planning to make sure we are fully prepared.

Make sure you speak with your DX Account Manager about preparations to collect and receive your DX items.

What areas will be affected?

The main Olympic events venues will be in various locations in London and the surrounding area and Belfast, Cardiff, Coventry, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle and Weymouth.

How will this affect deliveries and collections from DX?

Parking restrictions and planned road closures will potentially disrupt deliveries and collections. We continue to prepare contingency service plans and will attempt to keep disruption to a minimum where it is in our control.

Based on the information we have been provided we have pinpointed DX collection points and Customers located in potentially impacted areas.  We are working with those Customers to plan around the potential disruption to our services.

Our plans are progressing and we are preparing a detailed operational policy which we intend to share with our Customers before the end of March 2012.

Updates on our plans and approach to the challenge that the Games represents will be posted here.
