Rossendales
Background
Rossendales is a leading provider of Bailiff, Debt Collection and High Court Enforcement Services to the public and private sectors. The independently owned group, which was set up in 1972, and is based in the North of England, employs 174 certificated bailiffs across England and Wales. It offers a range of professional and ethical debt collection and enforcement services, and recovers more than £93m of debt each year on behalf of its clients from Central and Local Government.
The Challenge
Since its inception, Rossendales had relied on couriers to provide a secure mail service between its head office in Lancashire and its national bailiffs who work across England and Wales. Although the company could specify that it wanted mail to be delivered within a certain timeframe, there were logistic difficulties in delivery times and drop offs. This caused inefficiencies and delays which did not support the Company’s high quality service standards and turnaround target times. When factoring in the not insignificant financial costs of using couriers it was an opportunity for the Company to review processes with the aim of providing a more effective service solution.
The Solution
Having reviewed the time and costs associated with a courier service, in 2010 Rossendales consulted with the DX Group - the UK & Ireland’s leading independent logistics network provider.
DX recommended its DX Document Exchange service, using secure mailboxes for bailiffs to collect their confidential paperwork. The mailboxes are situated in the individual bailiff’s nearest solicitor or council office following stringent security checks. Bonded paperwork is securely delivered to the mailboxes before 9am to enable the bailiffs to collect the documentation so that they can seamlessly commence work early in the morning. The bailiffs can also safely return documentation back to their head office from the same location for secure shredding, posting up until 5pm for a next day pre-9am delivery.
As the majority of the legal profession also use the DX Document Exchange, Rossendales’ head office is able to correspond with solicitors, barristers, and courts in the same way.
The Testimonial
"The DX Document Exchange service provided by the DX Group is bringing significant benefits to our business. It is enabling our bailiffs to make better use of their time which will improve our quality service standards even further and will also make significant financial savings which can be re-invested back into the business for the benefit of our clients.
We have just signed up to DX’s Tracked Mail service too, which we will use when sending extra sensitive or important items to our bailiffs.
DX is excellent to deal with and always responds very promptly to our enquiries. They have worked very closely with us to get the mailboxes set up and to ensure that everything is running smoothly."
